Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

...used to arrive in Dublin around 22.30 iirc? Now it's been pushed forward and arrives at 23.50... too late for any onward connections. What's that about?

Semantics, but nonetheless it means I'll be driving as I don't live near Connolly.

I seem to remember it has to do with not overnighting a set of 22ks in Belfast due to lack of proper facilities for it.

It's due to the use of an Intercity Railcar (ICR) on the route during the Enterprise upgrade.

Normally the sets rotate over three days, being worked by both companies' crews with a different one overnighting in Dunlin each night.

However, the ICR is only crewed by IE staff and needs to overnight in Dublin each night for servicing.

The only way of getting the ICR back to Dublin was to defer the last train, unless you went down the route of transferring passengers between two trains midway along the route, which would be far from desirable.

Is this arrangement going to prevail for long does anyone know?

Until the refurbishment of the Enterprise sets is complete - I'd imagine late 2015.
