10 Predictions For The Summer

Thought this would be a good idea, similar to the ante-post predictions thread but obviously we can check back once the summer transfer window is over and don't have to wait until after the season.

All you have to do is list 10 things (in no particular order) you think will happen this summer, football related. Only ''rule'' is to try and keep it as realistic as possible. Obviously most people will be likely to make more predictions concerning their own club so that's fine.

Anyway, I'll start:

1) Germany will win Euro 2012
2) Sunderland will sign Steven Fletcher to lead the line
3) Kieran Richardson will leave and sign with a club much closer to London
4) Roberto Martinez will take the West Brom job left by Roy Hodgson
5) The big transfer saga of the summer will concern Robin Van Persie and it will end with him signing for Manchester City
6) Arsenal will be linked with big money replacements, but will sign Clint Dempsey from Fulham
7) Manchester United will spend big on the centre of their midfield
8) Newcastle will sell 3 of their current starters for healthy profits
9) Aston Villa will sack McCleish but struggle to get their first choice replacement in, leaving fans happy that he's gone but disappointed with his replacement
10) Steven Ireland will move to the MLS

Just a bit of fun anyway. Fire up your predictions lads

Haha, good idea though I'll give it a go:

1) Germany/France for 2012 actually. Can't make up my mind which.
2) Curbs to Wolves
3) McLeish to get sacked and join a championship side midway through year
4) Taarabt and Barton to leave QPR regardless
5) Ba to go to France, Newcastle to sign Pieters and one or two unheard of players
6) Hazard to City, Gaitan to Utd
7) A star will be born at Euro 12 and will go City/Chelsea.
8) RVP will leave! Dunno if City or Barca is the destination.
9) Dempsey to Arsenal I agree on. Jelavic aswell perhaps if RVP leaves
10) Ireland will get knocked out of group but boy will we have the craic

3) Leeds to not sell any transfer-listed player
4) Tottenham to sign Nelson Olivera after a stellar Euros for a ridiculous fee.
5) Liverpool to keep Aquilani
6) Newcastle to sell someone from the established starting XI
7) Swansea to loan a Barcelona player.
8) Norwich to buy a player from abroad.
9) Aidy White to sign for Norwich
10) O'Shea to play more minutes than Kelly at the Euros, winning me a bet with a fellow schoolmate and blogwriter.

2) Spain won't make the final.
3) Gareth Bale will make a big money move, but will stay in the EPL.
4) Higuain will move from Real Madrid to Juventus.
5) Glasgow Rangers will survive in some form or other.
6) RVP will stay at Arsenal (there's a risky one for you).
7) Kaka will be in the EPL next season.
8) Llorente will move to Barca (then rarely play).
9) England won't get out of their Euro2012 group.
10) I will be lucky to get 1 or 2 of these right.

5. Ireland to go to the finals, meeting Germany and losing in 90 minutes of time, late goal from Robbie in semis- to catapult us into final

7. RVP to stay, Rooney to go.

8. Balotelli to be kept on, Tevez to leave, Man City to sign big star striker

9. Alex Fergusson to announce his succesor.

10. Sigurdson to be signed for Man Utd.

Edit: Wait Kryogen, you mean Roy Keane to Wolves as manager, or Robbie Keane to Wolves as player?
Guess former is more likely.

4. Man Utd will (finally) sign Wesley Sneijder.
5. Van Persie and Bale will leave the EPL for Barcelona.
6. Juventus will break the bank and sign Edinson Cavani from under the noses of Chelsea and City.
7. City will sign Gonzalo Higuain and offload Tevez and Dzeko.
8. Wolves will hire Curbishley
9. Liverpool will keep faith with Dalglish but he'll be gone by October/November.
10. Chelsea will replace Di Matteo.

Was actually thinking this earlier I actually think this may happen, with Curbishley to WBA perhaps. Really can't see Tevez going though!

Someone mentioned Higuain- for some reason I think he'll join Chelsea.

Also Mario Balo to make headlines for wrong reasons at euros. Czech rep to be the surprise package if you will.

If QPR stay up I reckon they might sign a huge name (maybe Kaka)

1. Blackburn will go into administration and Venkys will disappear.
2. John Terry will leave or be forced out of Chelsea after his trial.
3. Dalglish will move upstairs.
4. Ireland will get 0 points in the Euro's.
5. All is not what it seems with James McCarthy.
6. Shamrock will be knocked out of Europe after their first tie.
7. Ronaldo will get a bad injury in the Euro's leading to Real Madrid taking a landmark case against either the Portugese FA or UEFA, thus changing International football forever and possibly the beginning of the end.
8. A high level footballer will come out as being gay.
9. The Euro 2012 final will be decided by a catastrophic refereeing mistake.
10. The Euro's will be plagued by fan trouble in both Poland and the Ukraine. Including Ireland fans who wont be able to handle the stronger beer.

4. McCleish will go.
5. Pogba will stay at United.
6. Unfortunately, can also see something bad happening in Ukraine...
7. Deschamps will leave Marseille.
8. Argentina to win the Olympics.
9. McClean will transfer to AC Milan on the back of a hatrick against Italy.
10. Some manager will no doubt be sacked in Serie A :P

Think Real could be in for him as well, they could do with him. It'll be interesting to see if Milan are willing to sell.

2. England won't win the Euros, their media will blame Roy Hodgson.
3. An Irish team will come close to Europa league group stage, but won't get there.
4. Scholes and Giggs will both retire.
5. City will be linked with every footballer that has ever lived but won't make any huge signings
6. United will spend more than city.
7. Sligo Rovers will bring in a couple of key players to fire them to the league title.
8. Team GB will win the Olympics, signalling a new golden era for british football. This era will never actually occur.
9. The Euros will be a dreary competition with very little good football played. Apres match will be top class though.
10. After the Euros everyone will complain about the lack of footy on TV, forgetting that we play a summer league in Ireland.

3. Modric will be linked with ManUtd and Chelsea for all summer and end up staying at Spurs.
4. Few Barca players will talk about how great Bale will be at Barca
5. Ibra will be linked with big money move if Milan fail to sign big players.
6. Inter to sign Lavezzi.
7. ManUtd to sign Kagawa
8. Hazard will be linked with every possible club in Europe and will end up at Madrid.
9. Robben/Sneijder/RVP will be injured in Euro 2012 and miss the start of the season.
10. Martinez will stay at Wigan.

It's more realism than low expectations, we're in a group with the world number 1, 8 and 12. I'm delighted we're there and don't think we'll be embarrassed but in terms of making it out of the group or even picking up a win it's a massive task.

6. Arsenal will invest wisely in powerful defensive players (just kidding, they'll sign Sigurdsson and play him out of position on the left wing)
