Mk 3 mondeo Aux coolant heater?

HI I have 2002 mk3 mondeo. Under the car there is a unit connected to the coolant pipes, it has what looks like 3 glowplugs in it. Is this an aux heater? Anyone have any info on this? I belive they may be faulty as they give different resistance reading on mutimeter. What should resistance read on good one? Any links to…
