Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Any one know of a relatively fast hdd diagnostic tool? I realise that every one of the gazillion sectors needs to be written/read to/from. I've tried a few free apps and the fastest so far is 39% done after 24 hours on 160gb sata.

ultimatebootcd has plenty of diagnostic utils some of which allow you to skip a number of sectors during checking, also has all the manufacturers own diagnostics tools, very handy free boot disk, Windows ScanDisk is also another basic option (Full Scan)
