Hi, I am getting a new graphics card, replacing this with this. From the dimensions in those spec sheets, The newer one is 45mm longer than the existing. Looking at my case, it will hit the hard drive bays and won't fit.

I was thinking of cutting a small notch(50mm) out of the frame at this point to accommodate. What is everyone's opinion on that? Any experience, cautionary words, recommended tools/work practises?

I assume the case is mild steel, so if you have to cut you could use a dremel or a jigsaw. If it was me I would use a jigsaw with a fine blade, and drill an 8mm hole in the inner bottom corner to make it easier. I would also give it a rub of a file to remove any rough edges and use a black marker/pain the on the cut edges.

Yea as above, simple job. Even a hack saw will do. Tidy up the edges with a metal file after and your done.
