Does anyone know of a good deal on this?

You'd nearly get the big box version of that on ebay for that price.

its really nearly always the case with nintendo made games especially the big franchises. they rarely drop much in price.

Sonic Racing Transformed on WiiU has finally dipped back below £10 on Amazon. Think there are better deals floating round Rakuten if you're using codes though.

Well worth it at that price.

Rumour has it that they have the new 3DS XL Zelda bundle in stock in Toys'r'us stores @ €220 - €250 and are planning on selling one per customer online and in store. I don't know if they deliver to Ireland or Parcel Motel, but I will be trying for it.
I'll be keeping an eye out on the site and other forums, but I'm away from the PC most of the time this week.

Fekin Nintendo. You really have to jump on their games when they're released to get a fair price.

The Amazon price regularly drops to £30, thought it's currently out of stock. Always look at who's fulfilling the order. If it's not Amazon themselves you're at the mercy of 3rd parties. Currently it defaults to a 3rd party. Amazon price is £40 but it's OOS. Click on other offers (New and Used) to see it.

WiiParty U for £12.98? Not bad...

GameStop went from having the cheapest copy of Super Smash Bros 3DS, €40, to the most expensive, €54.99 now.
    Bonkers.
But Ninty stuff holds value like little else, within a few months of release the likes of Alien Isolation was available for less than €40 for the PS4, a game like Super Mario Kart DS went on costing €40 or close to for years .

Actually, it's still marked at €29.99 and Mario Kart DS is 10 years old this year!

Stupid question but are there any pitfalls with using Amazon France? Do you simply pay the price shown and that's it?

I think you'll have to pay about 5-10 for shipping, and they likely adjust the VAT rate, but yea the price shown at the end of the checkout will be the price you pay, no import duties etc.

Obviously electronics will come with an EU 2 pronged plug, but again not big deal.

    We're all in the EU!
    One big happy family!
So it makes the price differential between Amazon.co.uk and .fr even harder to swallow though I reckon it's the Euro/Sterling thing that fecks it up.

Yeah it is. Standard pricing would be €50-60, £60 translates to around €80 at the current rate which is absurd and probably just down to a supply shortage or something. It is true that Nintendo games don't devalue quickly but that generally just means they hover around €40-50 for a good while after release.

Such a beautiful game, aside from the 3D effect it's really a straight sequel to Kirby's Adventure on the Wii, coming to the Eshop soon.
    Well worth owning both

Amazon - Wonderful 101 out of stock but down to £29.99

HUKD are reporting Argos dropping the price of Mario Party Island Tour on 3DS, and the irish site usually follows suit (but not always same day).

Wii U - 8GB Basic Pack (White) £99 from Tesco Direct.

Can you use Parcel Motel with Tesco? Doesn't affect me but that's the best price in a long time if not ever.

picked up kirby and mario golf in argos earlier and got a €5 voucher for spending over €50........even better value to be had if you're buying two of the discounted 3DS games

Oh Captain my Captain! Cap'n Toad is £24.85 on Amazon. And in stock. And shipping from Amazon themselves rather than some tiny shop in Chester. Too good to be true?

Also, you can get a pair of Size 9 Caterpillar Colorado boots for under £50.

Buy it, buy it now. It's a great game. I paid €40 in Smyths before Christmas, was well worth it.

So tempted.......although with exchange rates and PM charge it comes to €37 so not really that huge a bargain. I think this might be the exception to the rule of Nintendo prices and due to it being a short game may in fact get cheaper.....gonna hold out for now!

Why are you using PM for an Amazon Prime delivery? Add ANYTHING to the order to push it over £25 for free delivery
    ANYTHING!

    http://www.fillerchecker.co.uk/

15p for Printer Toner . Done!

You might want to extend that out to cover the value of a Parcel Motel delivery. Get value for money.
£2.99 for Black Cobra 3 - The Manilla Connection on DVD. How bad can it be?

You don't even need to :pac: I chose free delivery, it changes slightly to a handy total of £25.47, probably due to VAT difference. Thanks Banjo! :)

No there's free super saver delivery to Ireland for orders over £25 that are sold or fulfilled by Amazon

Prime is a paid service but you can still get free delivery as a non-Prime member on orders over £25 with Super Saver Delivery. Prime has the advantages of being faster and not having a minimum order but I don't know they offer the service in Ireland.

Yeah sorry, wasnt very clear. The Prime tag (for a non-subscriber) means its definitely fulfilled by amazon so super saver is an option. As such, since delivery is usually pretty significant you're as well off getting something else to tip you over the 25 quid mark

And yes I am aware that "fulfilled by amazon" items are not necessarily prime items but still fulfill the criteria.

Look over there! A Marth amiibo!

I have a feeling that this is the question of a noob bargain-hunter :) but is there any way on the Argos site to see every Wii U or 3DS game that they're selling? Damned if I can figure it out. Even when you click on what should end up showing you "all titles", there's stuff missing that I know they have for sale!

Do you just have to use the site's search function over and over, for every title you might have some interest in, in the hopes that you'll get a hit? ...Even that technique seems glitchy to me. Say you're interested in Pokemon Art Academy. Search for "Pokemon" and the list of titles returned doesn't include that game. But search for "academy", and there it is, right at the top! (For €26.99, by the way.)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,681 ✭✭✭Wolverine359

That is absolutely ridiculous :confused: They badly need to get rid of that dodgy search engine and replace it with Gooogle, or something :pac: Btw, thanks for that bargain alert, a lot of Pokemon fans would miss that discount otherwise. Anyone own it and recommend it? Very tempted to buy now.

Was in Heatons in Strabane yesterday and saw Donkey Kong Country Returns among their reduced dvds for £1.50. So even though I just got it last week on Wii U VC, I went to buy. But they couldn't find it. :(

They're not dodgy, they're in Asia, so you have a small chance of being caught for customs charges.
Also being in Asia means slow shipping.

The customs is really a non-issue for most games, as they've usually got prices at, below, or slightly above the limit, most duty officers will let you off.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,752 ✭✭✭johnpatrick81

I used them recently and ordered multiple items at the same time. Some took 3 weeks, others 4, and some never arrived(they did refund me). I used that Japanese site for the cheaper pro controller and that was massively quicker. I'd never use wowhd again.
