Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    HHX Manhattan

There is no strict "jazz cymbal" but I'd imagine generally the warmer cymbals would suit jazz more, rather than really bright cymbals like AAX. HHX are hand hammered, and hand hammered would generally give a warmer, richer sound. Also, some jazz players use cymbals with small holes drilled around the rim, with either a chain or I've also seen screws used to create "sizzle".

There are no rules though. Use what you like the sound or personally. At the same time I'm not really a jazz drummer. It's possible a jazz drummer might advise different, but I think no matter what music you play, always play what YOU like. Not what the norm is.

I've seen Jazz drummers mainly using Sabian, but also Istanbul's seem to fairly popular with jazz dudes as well as the K series by Zildjian. Hope this helps...

The difference is quality between those makes! 502 being low quality, 2002 being the best and most expensive!
