Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Has anyone seen this movie ?

    SYNOPSIS:

    In BLUE COLLAR, Paul Schrader's strong directorial debut, three assembly-line auto workers (Richard Pryor in one of his only serious dramatic roles, Harvey Keitel, and Yaphet Kotto) are equally angry and disenchanted at factory management and their own union.

    Dont wont to spoil the end but lets say it's not a happy ending.




    Why has the movie industry leaned towards happier endings in recent times ?? (or is it my imagination)

    Saw it a lllooooooooooong time ago, fri night on rte1.
    Was it in a painting room?

    My sister hates any movie that has an unhappy ending. Even if she enjoyed it till then, it suddenly becomes '****e' :rolleyes:

    I find films with unhappy endings a breath of fresh air

    Its kinda like the Outer Limits, that show always had the worst case scenario as an ending. It was great

    Yea most movies these days try to end up happy as Larry. Quite repetative after a while, the occassional 'bad' ending is nice. The 'neutral' ends arent bad (ie: nobody wins).

    blue collar came out in the seventies when hollywood went through a resurgence and directors had more power. in fact, some could do what they liked, which meant that, inevitably, it all went horribly wrong - heaven's gate - and the studio execs reasserted their control. therefore, considerably less good films and more popcorn fodder, because the american public don't like unhappy endings. they do bad at test screenings.
