Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

2 Speaker Tops one Bass Bin

    Hello everyone,

I have this dilemma that I have been looking for an answer all over the internet but no joy.

I basically want to know if it is possible to connect one bass in instead of the traditional 2 bass bins to my pa (dynacord powermate 1000-1 and two ev sx300 tops)

I looked everywhere on how to wire that kind of set up.

I think the proper or more known set up is having two bass bins plugged into the mains out of the dynacord, and going from the each bass bin output, to each speaker's input ..? not sure if even that is correct, but I've seen it done.

Second question I have is, do you guys know a good bass bin that goes with the ev's sx300 tops?

    Thanks!!

Does the powermate 1000-1 have a master b output? You can use this for the sub. Perfectly normal to use one bin instead of two, just make sure to send a mono signal instead of the L or R only. Can't help with the recommendation.

I just checked for a master b output, all I could find was a mono output, if that's the same?

The desk has two main outputs in the back which are speakon connections, and also has two main outputs on the main surface L and R which are jack connections.

The mono output connections is also jack connection on the main surface of the desk.

Don't mind the recommendations at all!

You can use the mono output, you'll need either a powered sub or an seperate amp as the mono output won't be driven by the dynacords internal amp.

    Thanks for that!

Is there no way I can connect a passive sub? I was thinking going from the main output of the desk to the passive sub input, then going from sub to speaker1, then from speaker1 to speaker2? I realise I will only be running on one channel in this method.

Other method I was thinking was one of the main outputs of the desk to bass to speaker, and other ouptut to one speaker?

Or are both methods not good/safe?

    Thanks!!
