Want to get the Mother a new laptop for Xmas, can't find any reviews for this online?

Any observations or better alternatives spring to mind?

    Intel® Celeron® Processor N2815
    Windows 8
    Memory: 4 GB
    Hard drive: 750 GB

It's basically the same as this one from dell for much less http://www.dell.com/ie/p/inspiron-15-3531-laptop/pd?oc=cn53105

Definitely not worth €350. A similar model has been going for €199 in Tesco recently. The CPU is as weak as you can get. Fine for basic browsing. But still quite slow.

    Ms

Tha processer does not seem to be anything special. If I was buying a laptop I would be looking for a laptop with a quad core processer that way it can do more than one thing at the one time and it can do it a lot faster too.
There is a Lenova laptop in Tesco for about 280euro it has windows 8.1 4GB memory and a duel core processer which is ok but I still think quad core is the way to go.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Dell offer the folloiwng MS Office options with a Laptop:

    none

    +€109.47 Microsoft® Office Home & Student 2013, EMEA

    +€553.50 Microsoft® Office Professional 2013, EMEA

    +€307.50 Microsoft® Office Home & Business 2013, EMEA

Is, 109.47 a good price or would I be better buying it seperately? I do need word and excel to work for the laptop to be a decent present!

Does anyone have a pros and cons list of the following:

    a) Microsoft Office 2013 Home and Student Edition

    b) Microsfot Office 2014 Personal Edition (download)

I have bought a) with the laptop from Dell as it appeared to be the cheapest option - its more than twice the price of the digital version and I read you can't use it on more than one machine.

I am thinking it might be best to return it and get the digital version to save 50/60 euro.

    Thoughts?
