There's a few deals that seem pretty good in currys and pc world at the moment, and I know there's limited stock on them, but I'm wondering whether new brands come out after christmas and the price on the older models will go down anyways? Any thoughts on when is a better time to buy? I was looking at this acer…

When you need a laptop and one that suits your needs is available at a price you can afford. There will always be a new laptop/table/<insert electronic device of choice> coming out at a time in the future.
