Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Gay porn

Regular poster, going unreg for this one.

I was on my OH's computer today doing some research for a project I am doing when I came across a porn site that he seemed to be going onto regularly. Now, usually I have no problem with porn at all, I find it a healthy part of our relationship as we usually view it together. The videos that I discovered however all involved men partaking in a variety of sexual acts.

We have a very open and honest relationship and I only assume that him keeping this from me means that he is ashamed? Embarrased by being turned on by members of the same sex? He's a very traditional man and although we have homosexual friends, he is never fully comfortable around them, much to all of our amusement.

I am not worried about it, simply wondering is it normal for straight men to view gay porn?

If you have gay friends and he feels uncomfortable, maybe he is trying to overcome this by looking at gay porn to see what goes on etc To get things clear in his mind, accept it more and then be less uncomfortable with these people. Sometimes its the not knowing that can be more scary and intimidating.

Men and women look at porn, both straight and gay porn and there is no gender that does or doesnt do either of them 100% despite what some posters think.

OP is this an issue for you (you are being turned off him, you doubt him etc etc) or are you just trying to suss out why someone would look at gay porn?

I don't look at gay porn and I avoid heterosexual anal porn also as it turns me off rather than on - but that's just my personal preference. Each to their own.
Curiosity can lead to looking at anything on the internet but repeated viewing indicates some sort of fascination IMO. It's a delicate subject but you need to find some way to raise it with your partner. You could ask how he feels about threesomes, and then maybe push it on from there?

I've looked at gay porn out of curiosity as well, I have a few gay friends, wanted to see what goes on, told my girlfriend about it too and she thought it was quite open minded. Looking at gay porn doesnt make me gay, same as being able to look at another man and see why women would think he's attractive doesnt either, nor does going to gay clubs with my gay friends and enjoying myself. I'm not gay, not bi, not even bi-curious, perfectly straight, always have and will be, good thing not everyone in the world is as small minded as you eh?

whats small minded about not wanting your other half watching other people having sex? would it be small minded to be opposed to your oh standing there in the room watching it as opposed to behind a screen?

I am male and I think that this is not normal at all. Well, not normal for a straight guy. I would honestly think that any male that looks up any sort of gay porn is a homosexual (or bi since his is your OH). If he is frequently looking at it, you should be very worried. As a male, I would not be one bit curious at all. I have never viewed gay porn.

    100% agree

I'm male, and straight. And would never even want to look up gay porn to be honest. I think you need to talk to your OH and find out whats going on.

This is something I quite like, though I will stress I'd have to be the giver rather than the receiver. I'll also say that should a man want to be on the receiving end of heterosexual anal sex, I dont feel this displays any signs of homosexual tendency either. It certainly wouldn't be for me, though.

OP, have you taken on board any of the advice in this thread and spoken with your OH? I'm very curious to learn what his reaction either was or will be.

Plenty of straight girls look at lesbian porn, whats the difference?

I'm female, and I don't know any other women who look at lesbian porn. Its come up in chat a few times and the average response is "yeugh thats disgusting", "not at all interesting" or "I'd pretend to like it to get male attention".

I think this is a male fantasy.

As for a guy looking at gay male porn, I'd definatley say he was curious. You can't tell anything else from the situation, but I think its quite a big deal in a relationship, so I'd ask him outright about it.

This thread was posted in February 2010 - I think we can take it as read that the OP will have reached a conclusion about their issue by now.

Could posters please note the date of threads they are posting in.

    Many thanks
