Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Bought a new laptop today - Sony Vaio.

Problem is that MS Vista it won't operate/open properly.

Tried loads of times, just won't respond peroperly, little circle thingy keeps turning and turning after I log on with password. End up switching it off with power button.

Can use the safe mode fine (what I'm using now) but that's not a long term solution.

Is there a quick fix to this problem or should I take it back to the shop ??

    Thanks

Tbh, if its brand new and the OS is broken I would take it back and ask for a replacement.

if its a toshiba or a dell, theres should be a full system restore mode/recovery ,from a hidden folder on the hardrive, try fn plus f11 key after turning on pc,or safe mode full system restore ,restore vista os and all programs installed when you bought the laptop, google your laptop eg toshiba 5150 restore recovery.
