Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Water stains on plaster board ceiling

    Had a small water leak a few months back and I am now only getting so sorting the ugly sight of the water stained plasterboard ceiling...

    The joints between the boards have slightly sunk a little too - my 2 questions are:

    1. How do I fix the sagging/cracking on the joints? Sand them down and repaint?

    2. If I repaint now, will the stains re-appear? The leak happened about 6 months ago, so it should be well died out now

    If the plasterboard has sagged enough that its visible, sanding down im afraid is not going to fix it, as plasterboard is only 10-12mm thick with 2/3 mils of skim coat.You will have to find the timber ceiling joists either side of the damaged area,cut it out and replace with new slab and re skim,then paint.

    Post a pic. The stain can be pre-coated with a stain blocker and then painted. No problem.

    white undercoat is a very good stain blocker and 1/3 the price, if you have cracks score them with a steel nail fill them and sand flush , undercoat it and 2 coats of celing paint.:)
