Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Apart from spec, whats in your opinion is the most desireable base laptop? Looking for something well made and durable.

    Opinions? Cheers.

I would hold asus in quite high regard. Haven't heard many problems with samsung laptops (look quite nice too) but they are quite new to the laptop market. I've had a few dells (can't really beat dell for customisation) and they've been pretty problem free. I know people who have had hp laptops and had nothing but trouble, saying that they were probably just the unlucky few.

I am a huge fan of the IBM Thinkpads. Used a lot of Laptops over the past few years but I constantly come back to the Thinkpad... Nice and small too. Only thing is you use the nipple type thing as a mouse which works far better than those sensitive pad things...

    I have a thinkpad x31

I've only had the one hp, but never had a problem with it. Even tripped over the cable one night, sending it off the table and 2m across the room. Survived the trip, I was well impressed.

Like I said they were probably just the unlucky ones.
