I bought a Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop from Singapore last year, which recently was sent to BMS here in Dublin for repairs involving the keyboard and hard drive.

That being said, the new hard drive is completely blank and I've got no recovery disc to reinstall stuff back onto it. I've emailed BMS and they told me that they don't have a said recovery disc for my particular model as it wasn't purchased in Europe.

The site they got for backup media is : http://www.backupmedia.toshiba.eu/

My question is, is there an equivalent site for the Asia region?

I've emailed Toshiaba numerous times, and all those times I get the damn same copy/paste responce:

When you say nothing on it do you mean no operating system

    Presuming yes

I had the same problem last week fixing a Toshiba laptop needed new hard drive no install disks

it was Vista home basic just got a copy of windows vista full edition (Downloaded from internet) and installed that selected the version it had a license sticker for on the laptop entered the license number from the sticker then rang an automated activation number entered numbers from laptop on phone and then numbers back onto laptop took about 5 mins and all done .

There is absolutely nothing illegal in downloading a copy of vista or any other operating system as long as you have the license to use it.
If you are doing that make sure it is not a hacked version you get.
