Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Quit smoking - range changed!

    Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this.

    I've always been an alto singer. High notes are NOT my friend.

    However, I quit smoking nearly a week ago. I'm lucky in that I haven't gotten the nasty, choking cough that a lot of people get when they quit, despite being a 30+ a day smoker previously and having lung damage!

    Thing is, while practising today, it's weird... I can sing quite a bit higher than I ever could before. Hitting notes I'd never have been close to hitting in the past.

    Is that normal when you quit smoking?

    Just to note - I've been a smoker even longer than I've been a singer, so I've never sung without smoking before.

    This has happened to me, too. It's not all about the smoking; I've been practising. But I'm sure it's helped a lot. :) another good reason to keep your resolve.

    I haven't been practising really :o still off the smokes since this post, and still singing in a higher range.

    Can't complain really, makes things easier :)
