Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Scenic 3 "Check Parking Brake" light?

OH has the "Check Parking Brake" warning light, audible warning and red spanner on her 2010 Grand Scenic. Handbrake is working normally though. Disconnected the battery for 5 mins, didn't clear it.

Any ideas? Not really that keen to put the car at the mercy of a Renault main dealer diagnostic.

Operate the handbrake manually a couple of times and see if that clears it.

Not being smart, but check all your doors are closed properly. I was getting this, couldn't figure out what was going on, then it turned out one of the back doors wasn't closed properly. Closed the door, and it disappeared, haven't had any problems since.

You could consider taking it to a main dealer. €90 and youl know exactly what, if anything, is wrong.

All this craic of disconnecting the battery and flicking the switch a few times are just old wives tales that people frustrate themselves with.

If you want to know, take it to the people who know. The handbrake modules in those are prone to failure and a lot of independent outfits do not have the necessary software to recode these units.

The handbrake is fundamental, if you need to rely on the car.
