Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

VW Passat 2007 Glass for Wing Mirror

    Hi All,
    I was driving on th Dublin Limerick motorway 2 weeks ago and the glass from my wing mirror shattered- didnt hit anything, just heard a pop and the glass was gone!

    The unit itself seems to be working perfectly ie can adjust it using the controls etc,

    Can i just buy replacement glass for the unit?- As the wingm mirrors are heated do I need to buy a specific type/ is this a job I can simply do myself?

    Look up eBay or go into motor factors or local vw garage.
    The glass can be replaced easy enough.

    A scobie's fist collided with mine outside the house one night, just needed a replacement glass, everything else was intact and working, I got the glass on micksgarage.com, it was a heated one for an Avensis, arrived the next day for less than 20 Euro simple clip in job to replace.

    Not sure if Passat is the same but might be a place to start if you only need the glass
