Hey guys I'm installing Ubuntu 8.10 onto an a Pc with XP on it. I was up and running fine and had everything almost configured in Ubuntu until I went to boot into XP. ntoskernel.exe is missing or corrupt. I copied the file over but didn't make a difference. I used fixmbr but that killed grub. Where do I need to install the bootloader having an OS on its own hdd?

The MBR of the drive you normally to boot from. So if you normally boot from the drive with windows on it, then grub need to be on that MBR.
Grub can be easily reinstalled using the ubuntu cd.
