Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So here's my new Q450 quad currently under construction.

All components from Hobby King. I've tried to make this as easy as possible so there's no soldering involved in this build. Costs so far:

    Q450 frame - c.€9.
    4 x 935kv Multistar Motors and Props - c.€11 each
    KK 2.1 Flight control computer - €25
    Power distribution board - €3
    4 x 20a multi star ESC - c.€8 each
    10cm servo leads - €2
    2 x Zippy 2650mAh Lipo batteries - €15 each
    Lipo balance charger - €10
    Turnigy 9x rx/tx - €50
    ESC programming card - €4
    Battery strap - €1
    Landing struts - €8
Plastic cover to protect KK 2.1 - free (found it in kitchen cupboard and fits perfectly!)

Still a bit to do like attaching the receiver and calibrating the ESCs and the kk2.1. Also need to attach the landing gear and a few other bits but nearly ready to go. I will be attaching a camera to it in future to capture aerial shots and possibly do some fpv.

    Looks good mate.

Any update on how it's going?
I'm new to this, but I'm putting together a hex project myself (F550 frame).
Keeping it as cheap as I can - to off-set the expected crashes / repairs!

I'm building a Q450 from Hobbyking also. I'm using a MultiWii AIO board though.
