Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Convert from electric to GFCH - Estimated Cost?

    How much approximately would it cost to install central heating in a house that currently has electric radiators?

    The house is a 3 bed with attic conversion, circa 1100 sqft. Just looking for a ballpark figure as in would it cost 4 or 5k or more than 10k? House is on a gas mains line as far as I know but currently has no boiler or anything.

    Also how much would installing solar panels cost and would it be worth it, what kind of factors would you need to consider?

    Finally the house currently has 3 phase power installed, what are the advantages/disadvantages of this? (not directly related to heating and plumbing obviously). Thanks.

    Depending upon layout, floors constructions, pipework routes, etc. it would probably be in the region of €7,500. This is obviously approx as it could be less or more.

    No advantage of 3 phase unless you are planning to use large machinery/motors.

    Do you know if the standing charge is higher with 3 phase power?

    id agree with shane. 1100 sq ft between 7000 and 8000. wait till january you can claim the 13.5 % tax. also you can get another 500 seai grant. 6000 in the new year from a ruputible company.
