Mover's lorry, parking permit needed?

We're moving back to Cork City soon and will be bringing a ton of furniture and bits, so of course we'll be hiring a mover.

Problem is, the potential house (pending some estate agent/landlord approval) will have on-street parking where a residence permit is needed. How do you go about getting one of those on short notice?

Is there some sort of permit you can get for our mover's lorry/van or is towing/ticketing ignored if you're moving?

Note: We don't have cars ourselves, so producing a driving license etc wouldn't be possible if that's required to get a permit in Cork.

I find that in general traffic wardens in Cork use their brains in such circumstances, it is a commercial vehicle which has to parked where it will for a specific purpose.
