    By accident I ended up tuning into Donal Dineen on 2FM/2XM last night after 10 pm. (I never listen to 2FM, it's such a failed public service broadcaster).

    I thought the show was quite good and different.

    What genre of music was I listening to? My best guess is ambient, but maybe you hip youngsters will tell me otherwise?

    its a bit odd to me that they would have the rolling wave with Philip King at 9 to 10pm and then Donal Dineen at 10pm on 2fm......

    I'd imagine there would be a very large crossover between the two.

    I'd no idea he was back........

    Seems odd that they would invest so heavily in this guy, via No Disco, ten years ago......make him a household name for a particular type of music fan.....and then stick him in this graveyard slot.

    From the legendary No Disco TV show, to his hugely influential Today FM shows, to regular live DJ sets, Donal Dineen has done more than most to highlight the great music coming out of Ireland and beyond. Now he’s agreed to present a one-off show for 105.2 TXFM, and we’re thrilled. From 10pm til 1am this St Patrick’s Night, you can hear Donal play some of his favourite irish music of the past twelve months and lots more besides. Here’s what the man himself had to say about the show:

    "I'm delighted to get the chance to return to the airwaves with TXFM on St Patrick's Day. All airtime is precious and I'm going to use these three hours to showcase the array of talent that makes this a golden age in Irish music. Throughout the past year I've been storing up tunes in a hope chest waiting for a chance to broadcast them. This is the perfect opportunity to whittle that pile down. I'll also be dropping the odd nugget for dancing feet from further afield mindful that the St Patrick's Day party ain't over 'till it's over!"
