Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No offence to the organizers who have nothing but my fullest support - but honestly! - this is the third demonstration in the last couple of weeks against discrimination that's happened in Dublin and it's the third one I've heard about with less than 24 hours to go. Or in this case, that it's just happened - and I'm sitting a five minute walk from the Dail!

    Where's the viral campaigning!?

I saw it mentioned on Facebook and Twitter last week. Maybe you're following the wrong people :p

I keep my twitter for Ukrainian coverage  fb and here for more normal interests!

Might be useful to let people know the groups and accounts involved as there are other people who'd like to drop by to these events as they happen.

    ta!

Social Democrats Supporting Pluralism in Education

    http://us11.campaign-archive2.com/?u=98563bc2f53bc670a2442d07f&id=3407ecd273

Speaking ahead of today’s demonstration on School Pluralism at Leinster House the Social Democrats have pledged support to the campaign for equality in Education by stating that in a modern democracy, it is not acceptable that a child could be refused a place in a local school on the basis of religion.

many would claim we already have pluralism in Education, but its Catholic dominated, we need secularism in Education

how would party which is bound to get even less TDs then labour got in 2011 get any movement on this?

Nothing anywhere on boards about it. Nothing on AI's website. Nothing on Mr. Panicker's email list. Nothing on ET's mailing list.

    Scrap the cap!

Education Equality is a newly founded organisation that is aiming to achieve equality in the education system for all children regardless of religion.
can you not look at this page https://www.facebook.com/Education-Equality-1641922236078221/?fref=ts
    Education Equality Membership Application Form
    https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1g6QpEolMQ5Y_EfRKZaFTdvq2IWRLUtdgJhue-IhLNTI/viewform
By ticking this box and submitting this application form, I agree to Education Equality's objectives as set out in the Mission Statement and to Education Equality's Constitution and data protection policy

seems he lodge it to oireachtas petitions committee http://petitions.oireachtas.ie/online_petitions.nsf/Published_Petitions_EN/39A327A993B3068780257F010039834F?OpenDocument&type=published+petition&lang=EN&r=0.58609903105211 which is good thing as long as he fulfilled the "previous efforts" criteria and they say its been dealt with elsewhere

The guy who organised this petition is a dad and a barrister.
He does not have declared support of Atheist Ireland.
He does not have declared support of Educate Together.
He does not have a boards.ie account (that I know of - if you do, hi paddy).
He is not a trained campaigner and media savvy person.

He is a guy who gave a **** about a topic, pulled a finger out of his arse, pulled off 20,000 signatures, got hours of national TV and Radio coverage, got inches of press coverage over the past 6 months.
He even got me getting signatures on Grafton Street and I'm a lazy **** :pac:.

The guy has done more than any politician or an entire A+A forum, or some useless Atheist Facebook group in the past six months for equality in education.
He gave the even lesser organised Rupesh Panicker a massive dig out for his Walk for Eva campaign that some of the posters here attended.

    Bravo Paddy

There is an official organisation that expectation just mentioned that fully support Paddy.

They have a newsletter subscription form here.

I would remind you that A+A is a discussion forum, not an activist forum - that's the domain of the forum on atheist.ie.

FWIW, A+A has raised a number of issues to national level, and at least one issue to international level - despite doing as little social media campaigning as possible, and most of the time, none at all.
