Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    JAZZMAN GERALD
+ DJ David Kitt + JB the Deejay
    Date: Friday 16th March 2007
    Venue: RiRa, George’s St., D2
    Time: 11.30pm
Admission: €5 before midnight, €10 after

Jazzman Gerald, the founding father of Jazzman Records returns to RiRa for what promises to be a spectacular night of deep soul, funk and jazz. Jazzman Records are recognised the world over for their contribution to vinyl culture - their fantastic re-issues of rare soul, funk and jazz records have become the mainstay of many DJs` collections.

Always taking the time and effort to track down the original copyright holder, Gerald has reissued 46 titles on his Jazzman series of 45s, and 11 albums on CD. There are also 18 releases on Stark Reality, Jazzman’s new label that issues new music inspired by the old, including recordings by the Soul Destroyers, Nesta and Little Barrie, and Malcolm Catto.

Support on the night comes from DJ David Kitt (yes, the singer-songwriter). Hip-hop and soul influences have always been subtly interwoven into Kitt`s albums, be it the old-school drum machines on his debut, “A Small Romance” or the brass and strings inflections on his critically lauded “Square One”. For those fans who haven’t yet heard Kittser on the decks, come on down to RiRa and check his unique blend of funk and soul.

Well known by all record buyers in Dublin is JB The Deejay (Road Records), with a deep knowledge of all styles JB will be holding court in RiRa and warming the crowd up for what should be another cracking gig from the lads at ChoiceCuts.
