Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My 19 plays Narfs Nonsense's 21 after the first days matches.

    Currently leading Macker1 113 to 91.

It will be very hard for me to make that up so revenge for the group stage defeats may be yours.

To be fair I was quite happy for my Man City players to do poorly yesterday.:D

18pts behind Narfs Nonsence over the two legs.

His 7 players V my 8/9 depending on Yaya.

He has Lakaku captained, I have Yaya.

I'm fearing my run may be over.

    I lead Qwabercd 106 (110 - 4) to 104 at the minute. It's very tight.

We both have Mannone, Coleman, Silva and Lukaku (captain) to play again.

Qwabercd then has Dzeko to play and Demel to sub in for Hazard.
I have Aguero, Ward and hopefully Mirallas.

You look very good for it.

I am 10 ahead of Yeats County. We have a very similar team but he has Aguero and Kompany left while I have Zabaleta and Dzeko. It could come down to how Aguero does

You just watch Demel get an unexpected clean sheet tomorrow and Dzeko bang two in!

Nothing is ever a certainty in this game.

That is some turnaround for you slingerz. If I recall correctly you lost your first 4 group games, won your last 2 and scraped through on 6 pts in a 3 way play off. Looking good for the semi finals now. You would have been 10,000-1 to win this after 4 group games. Well played.

Looks like I'm through 126 to 112. I've asked FinnHarpsBoy to update the spreadsheets when scores are finalised.

He's the Carol Voderman of this operation.

If my sums are correct, you won 126 - 120. Close but no cigar. Congratulations and best of luck in the semis!

Thanks, I was just lucky that Aguero didn't do anything last night

Well done Narf Nonsense. Good luck in the rest of the competition.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

The semi final draw as independently selected by FutureGuy due to my involvement:

    Lemlin v Boots234
    Slingerz v Narsnonsense

Best of luck lads (bar Boots234, I hope you have a **** 2 weeks).

Ties take place in GW36 and GW37. Best aggregate score over the two legs goes through. Highest ranked player goes through in the event of a tie.

    Semi Finals First Leg: GW36
    Semi Finals Second Leg: GW37

    Final: GW38.

The one draw that I wanted to avoid! Best of luck to you too

Well done to Slingerz who had two great gameweeks to knock me out.

Best of luck for the semi final.

Slingerz was the man to avoid. He got 152 points in the last round!!

We both got 126 so must be neck and neck!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,278 ✭✭✭slingerz

had a good couple of weeks

badly needed given the poor performance this season really. terrible time from Sept to January really, just crept inside the top 275,000 after the last gameweek

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

Back this week and every GW now.

    Lemlin v Boots234
    Slingerz v Narsnonsense

Boots234 has to be favourite in our tie. My team is now officially ravaged by injuries.

Terry, Mirallas and Silva all gone.

Nice try playing the underdog card but I'm not the one ranked inside the top 1000 in the world! We both have Mirallas gone and Terry had a very unfavorable fixture so it's just Silva that you are down really. You have a very strong team so I have no sympathy for you!

You scored 91 to my 73 last GW though and you have a City defender so I'd definitely have you down as favourite.

Global ranking matters nothing in a knockout cup competition.

Id totally forgotten about this! Moved back home from Saudi so my new found freedom has decreased my fsa time, so much so ive forgotten to update my team a couple of times. Very flukey I'm still in the running.

I'll be tuned in again now though!! Best of luck folks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

Very little difference between my team and Boots'. He took a -4. I went -8.

It's his Clyne, Zab and Janujaz to my Bardsley, Kompany and Lallana.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

    Boots 234 finished on 71(-4) do 67. I finished on 63(-8) so 55.

I've taken a 4 point hit for next week already so can't see myself pulling back a 16 point lead.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,278 ✭✭✭slingerz

    I finished on 74 (-12) vs Narfsnonense on 55 (-4)

    All down to DGW 37!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

    So its:

    Lemlin 55 - 67 Boots234
    Slingerz 62 - 51 Narfsnonsense

So its looking like a Boots234 vs Slingerz final. Slingerz was bottom seed in Group A and Boots234 was bottom seed in Group D when this all started.

The final could be two bottom seed teams!

I think i got those scores right but if you could double check them that would be great dont want to do anyone an injustice in it

Its a long way from being over yet, I'm going to have to make a few changes to try and bring Yaya in and that could easily backfire

I doubt you need to make 5 changes to cancel out your 12 point lead and my 4 point hit though? :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,439 ✭✭✭Boots234

Best of luck this week Lemlin:

You: Evra, Kompany, Chester, Rooney, Eriksen

Me: Coleman, Zabaleta, Ivanovic, Wickham, Januzaj

Ya, sold Rooney this morning for Wickham and brought in Yaya also

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

You're 12 ahead then. Can't see me closing that gap.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,439 ✭✭✭Boots234

Eriksen could get you off to a flying start shortly, wasn't sure whether to play him or Januzaj but went with the United midfielder (he is one of the most frustrating players in this game!), it could very well backfire

I think West Ham will go for the draw so Spurs could be lucky to score. It was close for me between playing Lallana or Eriksen. Lallana had the better fixture but I went with form in the end.

    And the final will be:

    Slingerz vs Boots234.

Well done and best of luck in the final lads.

My boys did a great job of throwing the game after I told them we couldn't possibly win it after I'd setup the competition ;)

An unlikely finalist given my perilous position following the first round of group games!

As champions cup finalists we should surely get a spot each in next seasons FSA Premier League ;)

Fair play slingerz and boots. Missed my team update again due to unexpected festival work. A little gutted but the weekend was totally worth it so cant complain!!

    Best of luck!

That's a great suggestion! I'm currently in 18th place but could easily fall out of the top 20 so we should definitely be rewarded for our efforts!

    Slingerz 49 Boots234 58.

BOOTS234 IS THE FSA CHAMPIONS CUP CHAMPION!!!!!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,439 ✭✭✭Boots234

Thanks Lemlin for setting this up and keeping track of the scores etc. It was a great competition with a worthy winner!! I can't remember the last time I won a competition of any sort until today! Commiserations to Slingerz. I'll be back next year to defend the cup, I heard that it's almost as difficult as defending the Champions League!

Congratulations. Well deserved. I can now say it took the champion to knock me out in the semi :D
