Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is it a cone filter or panel filter you're after?

I have a cone filter that I had on a 1.8t in an Ibiza Cupra you can have cheap if you want.

Otherwise, Proparts in Blanchardstown sell them I think. Westward Engineering in Meath stock K&N also as an alternative.

Just a panel filter for the moment. I'll check out pro parts.

    Cheers

I dunno if you want to know this but here's a guy who tested several different aftermarket air filters and found that they offered very little extra flow, not only over the standard filter but over no filter whatsoever. In other words, they do nothing for performance. Sound cool though

10% what? They don't provide anything like 10% extra flow.
They are reusable but they're such a pain in the hole to clean that I prefer buying the paper ones

ah reading more of the article is pretty interesting - the 10% was vs the stock filter, but vs no filter, theres very little in it. So really only about 10% of the 1.5% more airflow - as you say, not much in it

You have to remember, more air goes in more air must go out. I wouldn't expect noticeable power gains from a filter alone.

Mods like this must be done in pairs to work, filter and decat will have noticeable gains (depending on the car too mind)

You misinterpreted the data. The difference between a fllter and no filter is close to nothing, certainly wouldn't provide anything measurable , even if you had taken off the whole cat back
