Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pain in my hands

    Hi all,

I need to go the doctor.

I have a fair bit of pain when I use my hands, as if they'd got a belt of a hurl or they'd been crushed.
It's been getting worse over the last 9-10 months.

I'm based in South Dublin. I could go to a GP but am wondering if there is a more direct route?

    PS - no health insurance.

what do you mean a more direct route? going to your doctor sounds like the right idea here. he'll be able to tell you the best route from there i'd hope.

A GP will refer me to someone else, and charge me e50 - 75 for the pleasure.

This is money down the drain, I'd rather go straight to someone who has the knowledge to treat the issue!

Most specialists/tests/scans etc will require a referral letter, which your GP would have to give you.

Whats the charge in A and E now? You can skip the GP if you go through A and E?

If he's had the pain for nine or ten months, I don't see how it's an accident or an emergency, and I'm sure that he wouldn't want to unnecessarily put extra pressure on resources that are already completely over-stretched by taking the place of a patient who is suffering from a genuine accident or emergency and who requires immediate urgent medical attention.

He should go to the GP, that's what they're there for.

A+E is the same as a doctor. I ended up in St. Michaels, D Laoire a while back and it was 65 squids, same as my GUPPO.
