Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Yes, finally. After a whole year, the famed Engl rig is mine!

    Engl Fireball 60 Watt All-tube Head
    Engl 4x12 Vintage 30 Slanted Cabinet
    Ibanez J Custom RG8270FXB (AKA "Yume")
    Bottle of Absinth (For inspirational pursposes only)
    Totoro (AKA Japanese Guitar Gremlin)

    Talent not shown in these pictures.

    The sad thing is, I'm still waiting on the last piece of the puzzle, the elusive Speaker Cable. That should be here tomorrow though, and then I'll start on recording some clips, but for now some pictures will have to do. Untill then, have a listen to this clip.

    As for issues with the 4x12, I've got none. Wheels came with it, so I've been moving it about with incredible ease, but even lifting it inside when it was in the box wasn't a bother. I guess all the weightlifting I've been doing has payed off in that respect. ;)

    I'm still in agony that I can't play it just yet. I even tried seeing if there was anyone I could borrow a speaker cable from, but no luck. Anyway, there'll surely be more news to follow shortly. Lets hope when I plug it in everything works ok. :eek:

    Doesn't really matter tbh. I'm in a converted garage, so I've got the chance to really crank my gear without bothering anyone, it seems. I'm going to get my door soundproofed though, as you can hear it quite well inside the house.

    That rocks man. Roll on the sound clips.

    Not trying to jinx you or anything, but as soon as the speaker cable arrives, there will probably be a power cut or something - seems like you were destined to have to wait before cranking this up.

    You could always run the output from the Microcube into the Cab just for kicks. Considerably safer than previous suggestions to run the Head into the 'Cube.

    Very tasty rig. Cant wait to hear these clips. What you gonna use to record them??

    If my engl screamer (see signature) is anything to go by then you will never want/need another amp again.... maybe another 4x12 or an Invader but you're deffinitely onto a winner there with an ENGL. Enjoy it man

    Naw, I don't really go in for the whole 2 4x12s thing, and I doubt I'd need the Invader. 60 Watts and 2 Channels are grand for me tbh, clean and distortion is really all I'd use, and I don't know when I'd ever see any genuine need for 150 Watts. That said, who knows what the future will hold?

    But I would hope that I'll never need another amp. ;)

    For recording, I'll be using my camera, which has decent mp3 recording functions, aswell as excellent video. Yes, I'll stick up some vids if I can.

    FFS lad, go to maplins, buy some 2 core non shielded cable, 2 mono 6.5mm jacks and make your own!

    It's pissing rain out, I've not a penny, and I've already payed for a speaker cable, so I'd hate to make that redundant.

    Ahhh, but speaker cables can (and do) go bad....never hurts to have a spare!

    If you haven't heard from me this morning, it's because the cable arrived, and everything is working perfectly, and the amp sounds amazing and perfect and everything I always dreamed of, and I just took 2 minutes to catch my breath and tell you this thanks bye!

    Sold the Mesa aswell as quite a few older CDs and DVDs, and lots of saving = teh amp.

    J-Custom is working out brilliantly. It's a realy beauty altogether.
