Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

getting used to wearing a watch is a pain in the ass. My left arm now feels really, really light while my right arm feels insanely heavy.

I agree - i stopped wearing them years ago
    no watches bracelets rings

I only wear a wristwatch when I know I am going to be stuck in meetings all day. That way I can check the time without having to take my phone out.

Yeah, I'm the same, but my Dad got me a nice engraved watch as a graduation present, so I've tried my best to get used to it. I still take it off and play with it as often as I wear it. I just deal with the weight by pretending I'm Hell Boy, with a red right hand :)

... play me out Nick...

It's an awesome looking watch, I got it as an early 21st present from my parents.

So far I have onyl ever had two watches i wore, the one i have now and a binary watch where yuo press a button and it lights up, and yuo tell the time by which lights light up.

I can tell time easier with that one than any of the others. Can't really read a clock face quickly, but i suppose i'll get used to it rather than having to count up each time.

Just got to #1 in free short stories on Amazon.co.uk. excuse me while a I repeat a joke,
Mr. (Rudyard) Kipling may make exceedingly good cakes, but I beat him to #1 in free short stories.

    What does that mean exactly?

Just back from a most pleasant evening. The music was... amateur, as was to be expected but the teeming hordes of criminally beautiful people thronigng the streets defied belief.

Hm, just downloaded Asylum from your site, out of curiosity. I think you'll have the privilege of being the first living author to appear on my iPad...

yay :) I hope I don't destroy the possibility of other living writers being downloaded.

    "What does that mean exactly?"

The joke or the number one thing? though i suppose both are explained at once.

A Rudyard Kipling short story was #1 in the short story subsection for free ebooks on amazon.co.uk, my collection of short stories went to number one in short stories last night, though back to number two this morning, foiled! I am hopeful it shall return to number one soon as it seems that downloads are worse in the morning than they are in the evening.

That's what I would be like. Still have to get something decent worth uploading. I was planning on doing a book of short stories on Death, just after my lil The Arena adventures. Could be fun.

it is very gratifying to know that people enjoy reading your work on a slightly larger scale.

though covers are a right pain in the bollocks but a good cover can do wonders.
I used to do paper cuttings (don't really know what you call it, silhouetted scenes cut into paper with a scalpel) and settled on one i did of some trees and their roots for the cover after soem tweaking in a free photoshop type program.

it's my 3rd cover two. I liked the second one but it looked crappy, the idea was good but the execution was poor.

Whatever one you were about to come up with. It's rubbish.

Ok, I admit I can't actually read and just take a best guess at who writes what based on the username's initial.

Can't spell either based on "Wrtiers' Bloc" - or was that deliberate?

We're getting into story fatigue territory I think. It would be nice to have a few new members swing by and give some feedback.

Has anyone ever made a piñata?

Never made one before but now I kinda want to make one for my 21st birthday. already having jello shots, have to think of an interesting display for them though. last year they were in hulled out fruit skins so they looked like wedges of fruit.

Also, has anyone written under the influence of anything? (alcohol, drugs)
if so how did it turn out? only ever written twice while drunk, both times in the past few weeks, though I was probably closer to tipsy than drunk.

I wrote a blog entry last week while I was still quite drunk. Fortunately I saved it as a draft instead of pressing "publish". I was able to go back and revise it earlier this week. Somewhat ironically, I turned it into an anti-binge drinking essay!

Many's a time. Absolutely brilliant stuff, though curiously only really appreciable by returning to the state in which I was when I wrote it. ;)

Actually, it's incredibly hard to read, let alone write, on a lot of drugs but if you can remember the experience you can sometimes turn it into something readable.
