Hi all,

Mid rise lift

    Hi, I am thinking of buying a mid rise portable car lift i have been doing a bit of research on them for a while and I went and looked at one in a guys home garage yesterday. I think its is a great piece of kit.
    Anyone familiar with these and have any opinions on them?

    Unless you are a midget,I can't see a mid rise scissor lift being much use to you - they only give you about 1m clearance under the vehicle, which means you wouldn't even fit under on a stool.
    Do you have the ceiling clearance for a two post lift OP?

    The one i looked at will lift the car to 53inches or 1.3m.I use it mostly for cleaning tar doing brakes etc so i wouuldnt need to get underneath alot. I think the handy thing is i can bring it outside on a good day & store it one side when not using it. I looked at a two post lift but it would be in the way as i wouldnt be using it a lot.

    A good way to get a sore back. Don't!

    Get a full rise 2 post lift, height permitting. Much safer too

    Have you considered a single post lift?
    More functional than the mid rise scissor,more "portable" and I think they're in and around the same money.

    That looks good, the only thing i have against it is that for cleaning purposes etc id have to drop car down and turn either car or lift around to get to other side.
