Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rear Fog Lamps

    Hey

Had the NCT on Saturday and failed as my rear fog lamps are not lighting. I have a 2002 Citroen Xsara VSX.

The front lights come on with the green dashboard light.
The rear lights then do not light but the red dashboard light comes on.

I have checked the bulbs by moving them to another socket and they seem to be working fine.

Just wondering has anyone had this issue or could shed any light on where to start looking. For info, I had the indicator stalk replaced last year and as far as I know the fog lights where working after that.

    Cheers

when did rear fog lights become a test item? know people with Japanese imports who did the test and passed despite not having them.

It's one of the new requirements, but only if they're fitted.

    REAR FOG LAMP(S)
    Method of Testing
    1. If the vehicle is fitted with a Rear Fog Lamp, check that when in use, it provides a red light which is clearly visible.
    2. Check that the fog lamp is securely mounted.
    3. If fitted, check operation of fog lamp indicator.
    ITEM REASONS FOR FAILURE
    Rear Fog Lamp
    1 Not working or faulty.
2 Missing or not clearly visible.
    3 Not red in colour.
    4 Lens broken or missing.
    5 Insecurely mounted.
6 Fog lamp indicator not working correctly.

so it's a pass if it's not fitted, and a fail if it's missing.

    makes perfect sense.........

I did check the fuse but didnt think that this was the issue as the dashboard light is coming on and all other lights on the back of the car are working except the fog lights.

May just bring it to a garage or auto electrician. Any recommendations for either in North County Dublin?
