Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Booster pump question.

I am planning to install a booster pump in my home. Pump will be supplied from my attic storage tank so it won’t be drawing from mains water supply.
Does any body have any information on best types of pumps? (Pumps with expansion tanks) and where might be the best place to get one?
Do pumps come with variable pressure outlets? Say 1bar-2bar.
If not, is it acceptable to use a pressure reducing valve after booster pump & expansion tank to reduce to desired pressure.
What if any problems should/could I encounter with this modification
Thanks in advance for any advice given.

    Hi M+M

You can usually adjust the pumps pressure with a screwdriver.
Some fittings may start to weep due to the increase in pressure.
We bought our last pump in Heiton Buckleys for less than €200.
Put in a pump bypass line in case you get a power cut.

My daughter has a Triton T40i booster pump installed at her bathtub. The pump is installed about 300 mm above the mixer. The shower is at about 2000 mm directly above the booster pump and mixer. My concern is whether this is safe because water may splash on the booster pump when bathing. Very much appreciate your advice. Thank you.

The units are designed to have some water occasionally splashing on it as happens when showering but they're not intended to resist water constantly spraying or dribbling directly onto it.
The installation instructions shows the shower head offset to the side and states
    • Position the unit where it will NOT be in direct contact with water from the sprayhead.
I would suggest the unit always be installed as per the manufacturer's instructions.
