world championship snooker problems

I bought wcs yesterday, installed it today and it doesn't work. screen just flashes black when i try to load it. I did a typical install. I'm running xp pro and have all the min requirements. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? i've tried every configuration they allow but nothing worked.
