Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dumbing down a smart TV

I'm in the market for a new 32" TV. I do not want the Smart features and have a particular gripe about it gathering and sharing my data. But I would like to have it connected to my network for video streaming and casting to it from smartphone and tablet, therefore simply not plugging in the network cable will not work as a solution.

There are little to none "dumb" TV's available, so I was planning on buying a smart tv and disagreeing with the data collection and sharing T&C's. But I'm not sure what will then happen, can I continue to use it as a dumb TV or will it become completely unusable?

Another option is to block the TVs IP address in my router, but I understand that this can create a laggy OS as the TV continues attempting to connect to the internet.

The TV I have in mind is an LG. If anyone has any experience with dumbing down a smart TV while still keeping network functionality then please share.

    Thanks.
