I want to put a stove in a sitting room but not near an external wall. The room is an extension and so the wall is about 70cm thick. Would it be possible to channel through that wall to get outside with the stove pipe? Or would I have to have it bracketed along the wall I/e visable.

A pic of the place you want to put the stove would help. You can't run a flue horizontal longer than 150mm.So depending on location it could be hard that's why the pic would help.Who ever you intend to fit the stove should be able to tell you best position

Ok thanks, it won't work if I can't run a flue longer than 150mm sideways as it would be about 2 meters sideways!
I will have to run it up 2 storeys through a wooden balcony

There are a lot of things to take into consideration when running a flue up through a house.
It has to be twin walled flue
It has to a min internal diameter of 150mm
It needs a ventilated firestop were it goes from ground floor to 1st floor.
The flue has to be boxed in when it goes through rooms.
Access hatches have to be left in boxing for inspection of joints in flue.
That is just to name a few but there is entry of info out there.
