Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Guys,

I want to do an internship as a commis chef but none ever come up in my area. Has anyone ever approached an employer directly for an internship? Or is there somone i can talk to about looking for an internship in my area?

If you qualify for a JobBridge internship which allows you to hold on to your present social welfare payment plus receiving the €50 extra per week from the SW, then you should approach the restaurant/hotel owner in your area and give them the link to the JobBridge website http://www.jobbridge.ie/ where they can check if they would meet the criteria to take you on as an intern. At present, there are 8 positions on the Fas website for commis chef interns through JobBridge so obviously hotels/restaurant owners are availing of this scheme.
