    Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has any advise on where is good for stand up paddling withing an hour or so drive of Dublin.

Im a beginner, just bought an 11' inflatable touring board and Im looking for good places to paddle, generally flat water, not surf.

Not just ocean but river entry points and nice lakes too, preferably with parking spots.
    Any advice?

    Steve

Have you seen the video of the guys who wait for the passenger ferries to come in (or is it out?), and they catch the waves on SUP boards. Looks like some good fun, and you wouldn't have to leave the city. It's on the northside somewhere anyhow.

Try the canal, I know the instructor from surfdock uses the canal for fitness. Also out around sandy cove can be good if the waves aren't too choppy. Im in the same boat (so to speak) got a new board and looking for good and safe places to paddle.Im going to check out the liffey up at Lucan Village.
