Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

bit of advice please, my brother's wife left the family home with 3 kids , her husband is still in the house with 2 kids, it is a council house, they both moved in together when she was given the house, now they are married and he is on the rent as are all the kids, now wife wants him to leave as she says the house was given to her by the council and that he is only on the rent book, where does he stand

This is a matter for the housing department, call them.

Does she want to move back in?

Exactly. The house was allocated to a couple not an individual.

she wants to move back in and him out, the house was allocated to her first, then when they got married he went on the rent book

If they moved in "together" she might have gotten a house for "a couple with five kids"

Now she is separated with 3 kids, she might not be entitled to the house in her changed circumstances, same might apply to him.

she was allocated the house for her and 3 kids 5 years ago after 1 year he moved in with his 2 kids he is also the father of her kids, they got married and were all put on the rent, so council know he is living there and all the kids the last 4 years, she left and now wants to come back and reckons she is the one entitled to live there not him,

Then I believe it has nothing todo with the council. She will need to get legal advice if she has not done so she should go to legal aid board. It's a family law matter not really up to landlord to sort out.

I agree with Infosys, if his name is on the rent book, as you put it, then he also has a right to be there. The council does not have the authority to sort out disputes like this so a solicitor is required.

The fairest option is that both parties re apply for housing.
