Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

hi i have a peugeot 306 1.4 petrol year 2000 with 120k miles on it and the steering is gone very heavy in it so i taught the power steering pump was broken so i changed this, the power steering belt, fan belt and fluid.

but it is still very heavy any idea on what could be the problem with it. i have a parts car for it so i will have no problem getting the parts that might be at fault.

Is the power steering fluid still clean after you flushed the system? This could show that either the pump or rack is goosed. Is the a "grabbing" feeling when steering?

Ya still clean. Don't think there is a grabbing freling. It is just very heavy

Is the fan belt gripping properly? Would the steering be as heavy as if there was no power steering at all?

Ya fan belt ok. It would be a lot heavyer without power steering.

Same happened to me last year ( I don't drive a Peugeot). The power steering fluid was always leaking and I had to keep topping it up but I found out the steering rack was shagged so I replaced it...

The boots of the rack were full of fluid when I squeezed them so that was the tell-tale sign..

Nothing wring with the rack. It'll be the steering knuckle attached to the pinion. Common enough problem.
