Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No sauce on the pasta tonight for the Quick Step lads.

Jose Been even said it at the time - awful decision by Boonen to attack so far out, when he obviously hadn't the gas to complete it.

He may as well - he doesn't appear to have the horsepower for much else anyway. Has he ever been that thin this early in the season? He looked about half the size of Standard.

If he doesnt find some form sharpish, Cancellara is going to destroy him this Spring.

Stannard owes Vanmarcke some drinks after that. No way he wins if Boonen, Vandenbergh and Terpstra don't have to work so hard to keep Vanmarkce from closing them down. Sep was by far the strongest in the race too, just bad luck

That's a bit dramatic for the first semi classic of the spring.

Epic win for Stannard, shredding Etixx with a bit of help from Etixx! A True hardman Mr Stannard.

What a c*** up from Etixx..not taking away from Stannard who was so strong and clever on the day...delighted for him. Vanmarcke looks so impressive...can't believe Van Avermaet and Stybar just sat on him even when he brought the gap down to 15 seconds after the puncture!! Maybe they just didn't have the legs.

Vanmarcke (26) to win his first of many monuments this spring and Stannard will be a threat in Roubaix. Great start to the classic season

No way was Stybar going to do a tap in that chase with three teammates in the break - he also had the sense not to sprint for fifth. Avermaet did his fair share I thought.

Watched the finale again. Inside final 11km you would not think the TB, NT and SVB were on the same team. Is QuickStop too strong in that they have a lot of guys capable of a semi classic win and some guys capable of classic victory. In the end they were all going for it. If they had someone maybe like Keise in the finale they might have had a guy who would keep working for a defined leader. Twerp star and Boonen together - seems a waste.

I'd still say Wiggins is Sky's main man, but Stannard will be a great option. You can never put all your eggs in one basket anyway for Paris-Roubaix, unless Cancellara is on your team.

Wiggo did a truckload of work yesterday in bringing the gap down. What goes around comes around.

My bad!! In my excitement forgot Stybar was on the same team!!... Still one of the best finishes to a race... Looking at the highlights Stannard was super strong ..what an engine that guy has and his tactical ability to read the moves was spot on. Still think if Terpstra had attacked instead of Boonen...Stannard would have pulled Boonen to the line where he would have won the gallop.

ah Terpstra denies me an 18/1 return with Paddy Power.

    Stannard was a beast.
