Wondering would anyone know of any late night Dublin Bus buses that could be used to get from Dublin airport / old airport road / swords road back towards Dublin city centre. I know there is the Blue aircoach bus but I'm wondering if there is any alternative / cheaper ways (i can walk down from the airport to the old swords road). From what I've found on-line the latest Dublin Bus bus is the 41 from airport at 23.30. Just wondering would anyone know any later options ?

    Thanks

The last Dublin Buses all (crazily) stop at 11:30!

That leaves you with the only options being Aircoach or Taxi.

Aircoach is only €7 to the city & its 24hrs, god only knows what a taxi charges

The taxi charges E24 normally from Busaras to T1. Rather cheap if you are traveling with a group.

would cycling be an option? it is largely down hill from the airport into the city centre...

If its down hill one way its up hill the other:pac:

Maybe they'll extend the Dublin Bikes scheme to the airport as an alternative to Metro North.

Despite what has been quoted above, there are later options.

The last inbound buses on that corridor (times are from the terminus) on Monday-Friday are the following, in the order that they will pass ALSAA:

    16 - 23:30 from Airport to O'Connell Street
41c - 23:15 from Swords Manor to Lower Abbey Street (not via airport)
41 - 23:30 from Swords Manor to Lower Abbey Street
33 - 23:30 from Balbriggan to Lower Abbey Street (not via airport)
33 - 23:50 from Balbriggan to Mountoy Square (not via airport)

The 33 is the last inbound service - check it regularly on RTPI as they may be quicker than the RTPI estimates, but you are looking at both 33 services taking about 45-50 minutes to get to ALSAA from Balbriggan, so they should be there around 00:15/00:35. After that the only option is Aircoach from the airport until the first service the following morning.

The first bus next morning is:
    33 - 04:50 from Balbriggan (via Donabate)

Yes, I've cycled to and from the airport a few times, it is fine. But obviously not an option with heavy bags, etc.

Aircoach is €6 from Dublin Airport to City Centre if booked online. €7 is walk up price.

OP, if you happen to be now working in the airport then you might be interested in knowing that Aircoach offer a staff fare on their services.

    Staff fare is €3.50

    Valid Dublin Airport I.D. needed.

The Aircoach service runs 24 hours to and from the airport and Dublin City Centre.

It runs every 15 minutes during the day and between 11.55pm and 3.25am it runs every 30 minutes to and from the airport.

It leaves from opposite the Gresham Hotel on O'Connell St when heading to the airport.
