Have Office CD, but no Disk Drive in new laptop

Hi there, I have a licenced CD for Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 but went and bought a new ASUS 2 in 1 laptop with no disk drive (did not think this through).

Is there a way around installing Office without using the disk drive ?

I have the product key also

Or, on any other computer with a dvd-drive, you can create an image (PowerISO, MagicISO, Nero, etc), copy it to a USB stick or external hdd and mount the image. This solution also provides you with a backup copy of the original dvd, since they are pretty easy to get unreadable through time.

Torrent it.

You have the licence, so where you obtain the software is somewhat irrelevant provided you have the correct licence.

I already have the CD with the product key.

When i try to install with the product key, it asks to insert the cd which I cant do !

Rather than start a new thread..

Same issue, I have a Microsoft Home Office 2007 that I have been using on old laptop (still have CD and Product Key). New laptop had no Disk Drive. Given how Microsoft Office has evolved, is there a solution to use the existing product on new laptop?

Sorry, no solution for you, but just to comment that I was in what sounds like an identical situation a couple of weeks ago, though I don't know what OS your new laptop has. Mine has Windows 11, and I read it's not compatible with Office 2007, so, much as it disgusted me, I decided to pay MS to download Office 2019 😝. I didn't investigate whether downgrading the OS to Win 10 would have been an option. If it had Win 10 and I wanted to stick with it for a while I might have considered getting an external drive.

Better option than using 15 year old productivity software! You can buy CD keys legally, cheaply and download the ISOs easily enough direct from MS these days

One-off (ridiculously high, esp if having to get the 'Home & Business' version if want Outlook) fee (cf Office 365 is yearly fee)
