Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know the Seashell off Pearse St does them but does anyone know of any other chippers in Dublin (south) that does them?

I love them but having to trek into town every time I feel like one always puts me off.

Any half decent chippers will do them for you, should be able to get icecream in batter too (****ing lovely) :D

I've asked in a couple of places before but none of them did it. Most disappointing.

Bring your own Mars Bar and ask them to batter it for you!

Or alternatively just inject pure lard into your arterties.

Don't consider it a trek consider it penance to your body for what you're about to do to it.

I hear that the Borza in Bluebell do them. I've been meaning to go there to try one for ages. Are they worth it? I'm going mad to taste one.

There's a chipper just off Capel Street that does them, although why you would want to drop this fat bomb on your system is beyond me.

Yeah sure that's only - what 350g of pasta :P ffs. You might as well just put on a Rik Waller bodysuit if you're gonna eat this stuff regularly.

I don't intend having them everyday! I know they're not exactly healthy and the couple of times I've had them it's pretty hard to finish them but they are SO good!

I barely even go to the chipper anyway but it would be nice to know that if I wanted one I could go somewhere nearby to get it.

Everywhere does battered pineapple rings? They've been popular in our local chippers since the time when I used to eat chippers (5 years ago or so...)

I'd do it, but only to try it. I wouldn't want to become a regular, its so unhealthy its untrue.

The Borza on Whitehall Road (around the corner from the Submarine Bar) does them. I had one last week. Not my thing TBH...

Quite clearly these are unhealthy but is there reason why these have such a reputation for being especially unhealthy? Surely, for example, it's no worse than, say, battered cod and a mars bar afterwards??

You do realise those posts are over ten years old!

Ha and yet still a burning question! Was discussing this IRL earlier so googled it and this thread seemed the ideal place to ask!
