    BT2, Bramblewood reinforcements

    The roster:

    Sally (rogue)
    Elmer mcFud (monk)
    Shan Winklo (monk)
    Light (ranger)
    rameses (ranger/fighter)
    Fade (Barbarian)
    Zzap (Mage)

The scenario started off a few days after the end of the first installment. The Orcs are massing for an invasion. Thea has moved into the keep itself (see last week and the hammer of the forge) but she is being undersold by Thard, a rival merchant. Thea thinks he is working with the bandits but she wants proof, time for a bit of breaking and entering :)

Thards house was to the North. By the time Sally arrived to bypass the locking mechanism, Fade had already bypassed the entire Door mechanism.

Inside Thards house we discovered that he had the same taste in interior decor as almost everyone else in NWN.... Upstairs in a trapped desk, Sally found a letter threatening Thard and signed by the same lad that wrote the note last week to the bandits.

back at thea's shop we completed the quest and were rewarded with a shiney helmet that improves spot and search checks.

All were happy and much rejoicing was made in the streets. Well, not really as there was no XP reward. So we wandered off to get another quest. And lo and behold, two pop up in the same direction. Tallion the cleric wants an armband belonging to the religion of the Elder Gods (me senses a bit of foreshadowing, especially since BT3 is called Temple of the Elder Gods)... this armband is located in a crypt south of the keep. the second quest was from Captain Kel, he wanted us to meet up with reinforcements coming from the south and escort them back to the keep.

South we go. On a side note, it is pretty amazing how much the land to the south had changed in the few days we were at teh keep. Gone were the woods and someone had built an ancient crypt in its place! Oh, and by now Sally had changed to suitably more sexy and thief like leathers (though I have absolutely no idea where she was going to hide anything but I'm sure imagination could provide some answers!).

The Crypt. Sitting outside the town was a crypt entrance. After gruelling seconds of searching, Fade found it. Fade also found the trap on the door and disarmed it with style :p . Into the crypt we went and down to meet the inevitable undead. A few short battles later (and a few traps detected and disarmed by Sally mainly, though a summoned animal or two gave a helping paw) we had the bracers and were on our way to the surface.

Rather than making two journeys, we decided to push on south and meet the reinforcements. However all was not as easy as it sounds. Bandits were waiting for us, including Mippen - yep, the same mippen we killed last week - and a few minor skirmishes were fought. Eventually we met up with the reinforcements moving North. Time to babysit.

And a lucky thing it was that we were there. Orcs awaited the reinforcements (though how they sneaked in behind us I will never know). Blue orcs, blue orc champions and shamen were waiting and in other areas there were green orcs etc... woohoo! variety. Mind you, they all looked the same by the time we were finished. Dead. one interesting this was a fighter called Merric that turned up at the very end. he attacked me! and the git killed me. Then he was friendly and telling me to move along and thanks for assisting him - a town guard later said thanks to us for assisting the great Merrick in bringing in reinforcements. (At this point I should say that I don't trust this Merrick lad. not at all.)

Captain kel was quite happy indeed with our work and sent us to the local mage, Indiana, to get some information about the Orcs we met. Ont he way, Sally dropped the bracers in to Tallion and received quite a crappy reward. In her tower we discovered that the Orcs are fighting amongst themselves, green vs. blue. The blue orcs live in a cave ina valley, while the green orcs live in a camp to the west of the greens. She gave us a ring and teleported us to the valley in question. The ring would teleport us all back.

On arriving we found ourselves in the middle of a pitch battle between the orcs. Not wishing hte orcs to have all the fun killing each other we happily leant a hand. The fight was bloody but short. Northwars we found a T junction in the valley, to the East was th cave, to the west the vale continued. We decided to enter the cave.

Inside, we were met by very little resistance. A few traps were easily bypassed (or tripped and survived). Quite quickly we entered the chamber of the leader, an aptly named Orc Warrior called Urk. He didn't really pose much of an obstacle and soon his most prized possessions were divvied up between the party. (I got myself some shiney throwing axes :) ).

Westward and more Orcs to butcher. Really, it was a massacre. The only hiccup being Zzap getting killed by his own summoned dire badger. The leader of the green orcs died inside his tent. The cause of death was uncertian but it may have had something to do with a double bladed axe that Fade had mistakenly placed in his forehead.

And back we teleported to the mages tower. No time for rest or congratulations however. The Orcs were invading the Keep and had breached the gates (so much for the reinforcements). aided by Tallion the keep cleric, Captain Kel and Indiana we rushed to drive back the wave after server crashing wave of orcs. (yet another aside, anyone else notice a lack of Merrick the hero in the fight?).

After several waves and a lot of slaughter, the Orcs stopped attacking. indiana rewarded us with some gold and 1000xp.

    Thus ended BT2, Bramblewood Reinforcements.

next, BT3, Temple of the Elder Gods.

note: if in this module, you find a great item for someone in your party, even if it is a quest-item, LET THEM HAVE IT! Thank god we didn't have a cleric in the team. Those bracers were kick-ass for clerics, giving them additional spell-slots. I gave them back to the guy for a potion of aid, a potion of barkskin, a potion of cat's grace, a potion of bull's strength and another useless potion. Seriously, I would've had problems explaining that to a cleric in our team asking me "why the hell did you give him those bracers?". Same with this super-axe we found in the 2nd module. Traded in for some (ok, decent) armor that noone could wear. No XP at all in both quests. Thus, I think we should keep items we can use instead of completing the quest for some lousy potions and a few bucks.

My god .. nice write up Lolth.

Was a fun little mod I must say, really well scripted for the most part and a good pace throughout.

    Couple of questions ..

So when is Ch.3 to be played?

Also, who is who on boards/IRC/NWN?

I have JayK Colt (porn star name if ever there was one) the ranger, the fantastically pretty Barbie - 'Fade', and am gonna play a cleric at some stage as I never ever in any game played the healer. I made one on the portal and he is called Tanith.

Anyhows on boards I'm Jak obviously enough, and JayK on irc.

Think that's it - cheers for the game.

    JAK.

chapter 3 should be this wednesday if rev puts it on the server.

I'm LoLth on boards, I had Varathan for the Raven campaign.
Rameses is my character for the BT series and palasar is my character for during the week.

I am thinking of a paladin or cleric next. probably a cleric/mage :) As you may have noticed, I like multiclassing. The best intro in the 3ed rules was human multiclass.

I'm Sally Swift on the campaign and usually every female character you find on the server...

I'm (obviously) FlashBang here and also on IRC (if I knew the server and channel)
