    Just wondering...

if anyone else was experiencing problems with the new No One Lives Forever 2 title. I've been replacing drivers till I'm blue in the face, but the game still crashes at the start of level 3. Anyone else got issues or nice fixes I can try for this?

ps - I think this might be a broader issue with GEForce 4 cards and DirectX 8.1, but I'm not sure yet.

i think i disabled music and it loaded fine. (this is after i patched to 1.1). not quite sure, but i remember having the game crash after loading certain level, or just hang while loading the level.

my memory is fuzzy since i finished the game while back. it has no replayability value at all. :(

I really liked this game myself!

I had no problems with my system: P4, Radeon9700, WinXP.

I've patched the game to 1.1

I've updated my win2K system (SP3) with all latest goodies

I've updated my video drivers (detonator 30.82) to latest revision (for GEForce 4 TI 4400 )

I've downloaded all the latest mobo drivers/updates (ASUS)

    I've uninstalled and reinstalled DX8.1

I've uninstalled, reinstalled and repatched the game

I've updated the latest sound drivers (SBlaster Live 5.1)

I've tried messing with the refresh rates and performance settings..

    and...

Now I'm out of ideas. It always crashes at the same point. My system is well capable of handling the game (2ghz, 512mb DDR Ram, 80gb HDD (7200rpm), 128mb GEForce 4 TI 4400 Video etc.) - but it keeps crashing out.

    Any other suggestions?

Hmm, after going through all that, it has to be one of the more stupid problems... dodgy (as in scratched) game cd?

Have you tried it on a second PC?
