After looking at a post over on the Games boards here, I was wondering if people could post where there are car boot sales or markets, and on what dates/times....

It might be worth while to sticky this thread, and keep it up-to-date, as they can be great places for finding bargins....

Bit of a car boot sale fan here, have got some great stuff at them over the years!

There's one in Maynooth this Sunday 2pm in the boy's school.

Also Sallynoggin, in the school near Power city every 2nd sunday of the month from 9am.

Also St Josephs school, Tivoli road, Dun Laoighaire every 1st Sunday of the month from 9am...

    Happy bargain hunting ;):D

There's one in the Rugby Club in Donnybrook Village tomorrow (Sat. 16th) AFAIK.

Fairyhouse Market is on every Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays. Car boot section is usually rubbish though (IMO).

I think there is one out Dun Laoghaire direction too.....

Is it just me or do Irish car-boot sales not only suck, but blow too?

I've been to loads in the UK and you can pick up some genuinely interesting stuff.

Here, it's like stuff people are attempting to sell before finally binning it, and there's always some botchalism-ridden-burger van stinking the place out.

You seem to get better stuff in the UK alright. Lots of rubbish here. Ditto the markets.

i remember going to the 1 in gokart city near the airport, what a load of rubbish!! the whole place was like a skip with some ppl selling pirated/pr0n dvds.

the ones in the uk are a lot better. genuine ppl selling. a friend of mine bought a very good dvd player at a carboot sale in brighton for £30!

Sorry , that Car Boot Sale is not in Callan, its on the Callan Road, in Castle inch, maybe 3 miles outside Kilkenny City. Often thoguht I should go and dispose of my junk,...ahem....interesting pieces (my nieces see my place as an aladdins cave)

there is even a restaurant of sorts there!, often had a full breakfast waiting for the rain to stop, deciding did I really really want an elephabts foot umbrella stand.

...and both are pure rubbish. You'd have more fun dumpster diving with the added bonus that it would be free.

I assume you're looking in the East of the country?? You can try bootflea.com and carboot.ie for more info.

Personally, I've been working on building carboot networks. Unfortunatly the organisers of these are not computer literate so they're not well posted and the precious contact number is often hard to come by. There are groups on facebook.com and kotalk.com if you want to check those out...
