    Widely picked up worldwide was this victory speech from St.Vincent's club captain Ger Brennan where the thanked among others girlfriends and boyfriends.....AOH take note

    Not gay myself but saw this on the front page and went in expecting a thread where the GAA gets another slating. Didnt want St.Vincents to win so had turned off before the speech, but its a nice sign of where things are and helps fight peoples preconceptions of both the LGBT population and the GAA.

    Says a lot that on GAA message boards originaly there was more criticism about his remark concerning players winning no All Ireland medals and nothing really said about his boyfriends statement.

    It may or may not be of interest that Ger Brennan is also known to be a fiercely devout Catholic. I remember reading an interview where he said everything he does is for the greater glory of God and before games he sits alone praying for his team mates and opponents.
