Is life getting more boring?

    Would ya think life was more interesting 10 or 20 years ago than it is now? sure the recession has made things a bit more uncertain and everything but there is a trend towards boring, i see it all the time.

    Social sites + mobile phones are replacements for actually socialising (and causing trouble)

    Cars are getting more environmentally friendly (less power to save a drop of petrol) and electric cars are very simplistic yokes altogether, most don't even have gears. soon they will have driverless cars and those will be even more boring.

    The EU and that sort of things have caused a fair bit of cultural erosion

    The Law is ever more pervasive, a regulation to enforce everything is done in a certain way everywhere.

    Everything is more connected, more the same as everywhere else - you really have to go to the backarse to find a place where things are genuinely different. I could go somewhere with Ryanair and land in a city that is the same as every other city in that country, only the stuff built hundreds of years ago are different. The rest is disposable box stores and overpriced tourist 'attractions'.

    Movies are getting worse, due to piracy apparently

    Safety is considered a valid reason to ruin a lot of people's fun

    Colleges are being replaced by e-learning which is infinitely more boring than watching paint dry

    What seems to be the ultimate goal here? to live in a society where nobody has to leave their apartment to do anything just be plugged into the matrix playing some stupid game because real life will be considered to inconvenient and dangerous for anyone to live anymore

    Hm, thats two thoughts in one...

    a) I actully think things are getting more complicated.
    Everything is about "Living the life to the fullest" everything has to be great, every chance used. Whenever there is a decision to be made, the result has to be 100 % because there are so many possibilities. The ideal partner, job, car, body, life. People just expect waaay to much from life.

    b) I don't think that places are getting more like each other. They might look like it but they are not. I spend the last year travelling Canada and the US and every place I visited was different. Evenr places in Ireland are different. Galway for example is totally different than Killarney or Dublin! It just needs a closer look

    You lot may be getting more boring. I'm non-stop fuppin' excitement from dusk to dawn every day, 24-7, 365, Pi r squared mofos - I'm keeping it real and bringing it back, recession be damned, I'm jack-knifing a juggernaut on a bungee-jump into the abyss.     You know where I was yesterday?... I was outside a whorehouse, while a guy that works for me was inside beating the **** out of a guy that owes me money. Broke his arm. Put a bullet in his kneecap.
